— THE DEFINITION

Symmetricism

/ sim · met · rih · siz · uhm /

noun · original philosophy · coined by Logan Storm

A philosophical lens through which life is viewed as inherently dualistic — embracing both the light and the shadow, the joy and the sorrow, as equally necessary, equally sacred parts of a perfectly balanced whole.

At the heart of Symmetricism lies a recognition rooted in faith: God created a perfectly balanced world. The value of both good and bad experiences is symmetrical — not in the sense that they feel equal, but that they are equally necessary. Just as light cannot exist without darkness, joy cannot exist without sorrow.

This is not pessimism. It is not a resignation to suffering. It is an honest, grateful, and ultimately peaceful acceptance that the depths of joy are only accessible to those who have navigated the valleys of despair.
